Underwater ROV
A remotely operated underwater vehicle that dives where divers can't safely go — inspecting dams, hulls, pipelines and reservoirs with cameras, sonar and a manipulator arm, all from a topside console.
The KD-ROV is a tethered underwater robot for inspection and light intervention beneath the surface. Thrusters give it precise control in all directions; a high-definition camera with lights, plus optional sonar, let it see in murky water; and an optional manipulator arm lets it actually do something once it gets there — close a valve, collect a sample, clear debris.
The tether is the ROV's lifeline and its advantage: it carries power and a high-bandwidth, low-latency data link, so there's no battery anxiety and no lost connection at depth. The pilot stays dry and safe topside, flying the vehicle with a live video feed and full telemetry — depth, heading, attitude — on screen.
Auto-functions take the strain out of long dives. Depth-hold and heading-hold keep the ROV parked steady against current while the pilot concentrates on inspecting, and every dive is recorded with overlaid position and sensor data for a complete, reviewable survey.
Multi-axis thrust
Vectored thrusters allow precise movement and station-keeping in any direction, even against current.
HD vision + lighting
Low-light HD camera with dimmable LEDs, plus optional sonar for navigating turbid water where cameras can't see.
Manipulator arm
Optional gripper turns the ROV from observer to operator — sampling, valve actuation, debris removal.
Depth & heading hold
Auto-stabilization parks the vehicle steady so the pilot can focus on the inspection, not the flying.
Tethered reliability
Power and low-latency data over a single umbilical — no battery limit, no dropout at depth.
Recorded surveys
Video and telemetry are logged with depth/heading overlay for a complete, reviewable record of every dive.
| Depth rating | Configurable (e.g. up to 100–300 m) |
|---|---|
| Thrusters | Vectored, multi-directional |
| Camera | HD low-light + dimmable LED lighting |
| Sonar | Optional imaging sonar for low visibility |
| Manipulator | Optional gripper / sampling arm |
| Tether | Power + data umbilical, topside console |
| Auto modes | Depth-hold, heading-hold, station-keep |
| Telemetry | Depth, heading, attitude, live overlay |
- Dam, reservoir and water-intake inspection
- Ship hull, propeller and mooring-chain survey
- Underwater pipeline and cable route checking
- Aquaculture net and cage monitoring
- Search, recovery and sample collection tasks
Launch
Lower the ROV into the water from the bank or vessel. Power and data run topside through the tether to the pilot console.
Descend
Fly down to the target using live video and telemetry; engage depth-hold to settle at the working depth.
Inspect / act
Survey with camera and sonar, and use the manipulator arm to sample, actuate or clear as needed.
Review
Recover the vehicle. Replay the recorded dive with position and sensor overlay to produce the inspection report.
